Weis Creates Training and Development Post

Robert Cline has joined Weis Markets as its director of training and organizational development.

In this newly created position, Cline will be responsible for training and development, succession planning, performance management, career planning and other management initiatives designed to improve the company’s performance. Cline reports to Jim Marcil, senior VP of human resources.

Before coming to Weis Markets, Cline was a senior HR business partner at Staples, the office supply retailer. During his 20-plus-year career in human resources, he also worked at CVS Pharmacy, where he held various positions including Northeast area HR director and director of employee and labor relations.

Cline is a graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.

Founded in 1912, Weis Markets operates 162 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia.
