Wegmans Selects Intesource Suite to Improve Procurement Processes
PHOENIX - Procurement provider Intesource on Thursday announced that Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has signed an agreement to use the Intesource suite and services to assist in procuring a variety of goods and services. Effective immediately, the agreement follows the successful completion of a pilot program conducted in December 2002.
"We wanted to create an environment where our team could lower costs while sustaining the high quality Wegmans is known for," said Marianne Timmons, director of business to business at Wegmans.
Composed of six modules, the Intesource procurement suite is a hosted, Web-based application that is designed to integrate easily with a corporation's existing infrastructure. The system leverages the flexibility and convenience of the Web to enable purchasing professionals to reduce costs and improve efficiencies throughout the entire procurement cycle.
