WEBCAST: Trends in U.S. Product Claims
Progressive Grocer invites you to the latest in its series of free webcasts, Trends in U.S. Product Claims (2002-2011), on Thursday, June 21, at 2 p.m. EST, sponsored by the Corn Refiners Association.
In February, the Mintel Group reviewed products launched between 2002 and 2011 for launch types, brands and categories, and product claims. When food and beverage marketing professionals launch new products, they frequently promote “low-in” health-related claims such as “low/no/reduced fat” and “low/no/reduced sugar.”
According to new data from Mintel’s Global New Products Database, claims of “no high-fructose corn syrup” in 2011 product launches were lower than many might expect.
Lynn Dornblaser, Mintel’s director of innovation and insight, will discusses the following:
- Incidence of other “low-in” health claims on products, putting “no HFCS” into clearer perspective
- Insights regarding “no HFCS” claims, by product types, company, brands and launch type
- Use of HFCS as a sweetener in new product introductions, singly and in blends
Dornblaser brings a quarter century of product trend knowledge to Mintel, which she joined in 1998. She applies her unique perspective on the market and new product development to tailored client research and to extensive public speaking.
The webcast will be moderated by Jim Dudlicek, senior editor of Progressive Grocer.
