Wal-Mart V.P. to Chair NFRA Board

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Scott Poole, v.p./division merchandise manager for Wal-Mart Supercenters, was recently elected chairman of the board for the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) during the trade group's annual membership meeting in San Francisco, Calif.

Poole has been active in the association for many years, serving as a director from 2002-2003, as secretary from 2003-2004, and as chairman-elect from 2004-2005.

Other officers sworn in at the association's 61st annual meeting were: John Bottomley, Sargento Foods, Inc., chairman-elect; John Annetta, White Rose Frozen Food Co., secretary; Ray Tarnowski, Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, treasurer; Rick Loesel, P & O Cold Logistics, vice chairman foodservice; Jeff Thomas, Michael Foods, Inc., vice chairman refrigerated; and Jim O'Sullivan, Schwan's Bakery, Inc., vice chairman Frozen.

Newly elected to the board of directors were: Mary Bentley, General Mills; Paul Buckley, Welch's Foods; John Farmer, American Dairy Brands; Scott Haws, Land O' Lakes Foods Inc.; Joe Kent, Michael Angelo's Gourmet Foods; Randy Rosinski, Nestle U.S.A.; and Ed Smith, Sara Lee Food & Beverage.

Elected for a second term on the board of directors were: Bob Cole, Kraft Foods Cheese & Dairy Division; Joe Good, Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc.; Nick Krzyzaniak, The Dannon Company; Jeff Reagan, Wakefern Food Corporation; Mike Riley, Pocono Produce Co.; and Mark Wilhite, General Mills.

NFRA is a non-profit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. The group sponsors March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month, June/July Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties promotion, the new End of Summer Back to Cool refrigerated promotion, and October Frozen Foods Festival.
