Wal-Mart Names Saatchi & Saatchi X as Communications Agency of Record
BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has appointed Springdale, Ark.-based Saatchi & Saatchi X as its Agency of Record (AOR) for shopper, in-store, and associate communications. The retailer has worked with Saatchi & Saatchi for the last seven years.
"We have been very pleased with the results Saatchi & Saatchi X has provided us as our in-store innovation partner," said Julie Roehm, Wal-Mart's s.v.p. of marketing communications. "By bringing the agency into an AOR arrangement as a roster agency, we believe we can achieve even greater results."
Andy Murray, c.e.o. of Saatchi & Saatchi X, said the agency aims "to present Wal-Mart as an easier, more enjoyable, intuitive, and valuable experience. It's about connecting and communicating at all the points a shopper interacts with Wal-Mart."
He noted that "from an associate's perspective, it means having more input, more ideas, and more engagement in creating the best customer experience."
Saatchi & Saatchi noted that this service is not a direct component of Wal-Mart's ongoing agency review.
