Wal-Mart Looks for Land in Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reportedly is looking for land in the Tampa Bay area for its stand-alone Neighborhood Market grocery stores, the Tampa Tribune reports.
The news comes after reports last week that Wal-Mart is scouting the Nashville, Tenn. area for sites for its Neighborhood Market stores.
Wal-Mart currently operates about three dozen of the stores in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Mississippi. At its annual meeting in June, the retailer said it plans to add 15 to 20 Neighborhood Markets this year.
