Wal-Mart Announces New Vice President of Pharmacy Operations

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. announced on Monday that Ronald Chomiuk has joined the company as vice president, pharmacy operations. Chomiuk most recently served as senior vice president of pharmacy for Kmart Corp.

Chomiuk, 48 and a registered pharmacist, will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of more than 2,800 Wal-Mart, SAM'S CLUB and Neighborhood Market pharmacies in all 50 states.

"Ron's depth of experience and proven skills are great assets that will help our pharmacy team continue to grow as the nation's low-cost provider of prescription and over-the-counter drugs," said Dave Dible, executive vice president of Wal-Mart's specialty division.

In six years with Kmart, Chomiuk served in a variety of key positions, including vice president and general merchandise manager, drug store businesses; divisional vice president, health and beauty care; and director of consumable merchandising and pharmacy operations.

Prior to joining Kmart in 1995, Chomiuk was assistant vice president, pharmacy operations, for Perry Drug Stores in Pontiac, Mich., where he worked for six years.
