Wakefern Promotes 4
Under a new organizational structure slated to take effect Jan. 1, Wakefern Food Corp. has promoted the following executives.
- Jeff Reagan, currently SVP, corporate merchandising and non-perishables, will assume the role of SVP of marketing, in which capacity he will guide several of the company’s service divisions, including marketing, quality assurance, logistics and warehousing.
- Chris Lane, currently VP of Wakefern’s grocery marketing division, will take on the role of SVP of non-perishables. As well as grocery marketing, Lane will have responsibility for the HABA, pharmacy and nonfoods divisions.
- Bill Mayo, now VP of Wakefern’s dairy-deli/frozen division, will rise to the position of SVP of perishables.In addition to dairy-deli/frozen, Mayo will head the meat, seafood, produce and floral divisions.
- Steve Henig, currently director of corporate merchandising, will become VP, maintaining his present responsibilities
Reagan, Lane and Mayo will report to EVP Joseph Sheridan, while Henig will report to Reagan.
“The key to any successful business is the ability to constantly re-evaluate its organizational structure to meet the company’s changing and evolving needs,” noted Sheridan. “Wakefern has a longstanding tradition of leveraging the talent and experience of its associates to build a strong business and to increase the company’s presence in the marketplace.”
According to Dean Janeway, president of the Keasbey, N.J.-based retail co-op, whose 47 members operate stores under the ShopRite banner, the organizational changes “will further strengthen Wakefern’s leadership team to ensure another successful year ahead.”
