Vite Retiring as IL Retail Chief

David F. Vite, president and CEO of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association, plans to retire at the end of this year after leading the group for nearly three decades.

During his 28-year tenure at IRMA, Vite led some of the most successful lobbying campaigns in Illinois and is one of the most well-respected and influential association executives in the state.

“For nearly 30 years Dave Vite has been a powerful force in the retail community,” said Sandy Kennedy, president of the Retail Industry Leaders Association. “With sound strategy and dogged determination, Dave played a central role in countless wins scored on behalf of retailers, their employees and their customers. We congratulate Dave on his tremendous career and wish him well as he transitions into retirement.”

Robb Karr, executive VP of IRMA, will replace Vite as president and CEO of the association at the end of the year.

“RILA congratulates Robb on his upcoming promotion as president of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association and welcome his leadership and expertise,” Kennedy said. “We look forward to our continued partnership with the Illinois Retail Merchants Association and their talented team.”
