Vista Foods to Sponsor 'Project Kid Care' Event
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Vista Foods here sponsored a free Project Kid Care event on Saturday, Dec. 10, in conjunction with the local police department.
Project Kid Care is a national effort to help parents identify and recover any child who disappears. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., parents brought their children to the Vista Foods store in West Manchester, to be photographed and fingerprinted. "One in seven missing children is recovered because of a quality photograph," noted Manchester Police sergeant Lloyd Doughty.
Participating parents received free special books to hold the pictures and fingerprint cards of their children. The books have room for future photographs, in addition to medical information. Also, each participating child received a coupon good for milk and a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie from the Vista Foods bakery department.
Vista Foods is a subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England, the biggest cooperative, retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in the region. Based in Manchester, N.H., AG New England serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area.
