VG’s Introduces No-cost Drug Program
VG’s Grocery will offer at no charge select antibiotics, prenatal vitamins and diabetes medications through all of its 13 pharmacies as part of the new Yes Rewards program.
The grocer says its new program will provide relief and peace of mind to thousands of Michigan families struggling to make ends meet during tough economic times. The program will offer these medications at no charge in addition to $4/30 day and $10/90 day supplies of nearly 300 generic medications to all members of the Yes Rewards program. VG’s also offers free assistance with Medicare and Medicaid billings, and VG’s pharmacists are available to meet with patients to answer questions, consult on potential drug interactions or side effects, and other over-the-counter therapies.
“Michigan has faced tough economic times in recent years, and many families living in the southeast/Flint/Detroit areas have struggled with job losses or reduced hours,” said Brian Haaraoja, senior VP and GM of VG’s. “At no time do we ever want families to be forced to decide between food, heat or medications, so we are very excited to introduce our Yes Rewards program to meet growing demand.”
All VG’s Yes Rewards Pharmacy members are eligible for free select antibiotics, prenatal vitamins and diabetes medications when they bring in their physician’s prescription. They will receive up to a 14-day free supply of qualifying antibiotic generic medications or a 90-day supply on diabetic medications and prenatals. Members also earn 25 Yes points for each prescription filled that are not part of the free program, or that are paid for by Medicare, Medicaid or other government-funded programs.
