Unlimited Choices At Big Y
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Big Y Foods here has expanded its online shopping service to include Unlimited Choices, a new program that will give its customers access to more than 30,000 additional products not carried in a typical Big Y store. A wide assortment of non-food items, including toys, books, housewares and gifts is also available.
"We are continuously looking for ways to enhance the service and value we bring to our customers," said Daniel Lescoe, s.v.p. of merchandising at Big Y. "The Unlimited Choices program is a great way for us to satisfy our shoppers' requests for regional and hard-to-find products that we cannot carry in our stores on a permanent basis." A typical 55,000 square foot Big Y store carries some 35,000 different items; Unlimited Choices virtually doubles that number, and can be especially important for customers with special dietary needs or with a hankering for a favorite ethnic food.
Customers access the service by going to bigy.com and clicking on the Unlimited Choices icon, and then following the instructions. Customers receive an e-mail confirmation when their order is placed, and another e-mail notification when it has been shipped.
Big Y operates 50 stores throughout central and western Massachusetts and Connecticut.
