United Selects November ‘Teachers On The Rise’

United Supermarkets and Mrs. Baird’s Bread have named Sara Stennett of Lubbock Christian School; Chris Richardson of Estacado Junior High; and Christine Bentley of Lubbock-Cooper High School the November recipients of the second annual Teachers on the Rise program.

To nominate a teacher, students can visit www.MrsBTeacher.com to fill out an entry explaining why their teacher deserves special recognition. Winning teachers receive a $100 United Supermarkets/Market Street/Amigos gift card and a $100 Visa gift card. The student who nominates a winning teacher also receives a $50 Visa gift card.

“We are delighted to recognize these three superior teachers for their outstanding service to our community,” said Shelby Crews, community relations manager for Lubbock, Texas-based United, adding that the program “helps remind all teachers of the vital impact they have on our children every day.”

Three more South Plains teachers -- one elementary, middle school/junior high and high school -- will be named Teachers On The Rise in December and each month this school year.

United Supermarkets currently operates 57 stores under four unique brands: United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and United Express, along with subsidiary operations R.C. Taylor Distributing, Praters and Llano Logistics.
