United Natural Foods Names Shamber C.F.O.
DAYVILLE, Conn. -- United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) here said it has promoted Mark E. Shamber to the position of v.p., c.f.o. and Treasurer from v.p., chief accounting officer, and corporate controller. Shamber has been the company's acting c.f.o. and treasurer since January 2006.
UNFI also promoted Lisa N'Chonon, a CPA who has served as assistant corporate controller since April 2004, to the post of corporate controller.

Shamber, a v.p. since August 2005, has served as UNFI's chief accounting officer since January 2006 and as the company's corporate controller since June 2003. Prior to joining UNFI, he worked for the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP in the assurance and advisory business systems practice, working his way up to the position of senior manager. Before that, Shamber worked at the finance department at Reebok International, Ltd.
UNFI carries and distributes over 40,000 products to more than 20,000 customers across the country. The company serves a wide variety of retail formats, among them conventional supermarket chains, natural product superstores, independent retail operators, and the foodservice channel.
