United Fresh Recruiting for 2nd Executive Program after Successful Debut

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Registration is now open for the second annual installment of the Produce Executive Development Program sponsored by United Fresh Research & Education Foundation in partnership with Cornell University.

Designed for mid- to senior-level executives interested in developing their careers and helping their companies address the key challenges and opportunities faced by today's produce industry, the program will be held March 9-14, 2008 at the Statler Hotel & Executive Conference Center on the Cornell Campus in Ithaca, N.Y.

Calling last year's inaugural program "a great success," Victoria Kuhns, s.v.p./member services and foundation, said: "After receiving outstanding evaluations from the participants, word has gotten around that this program is truly valuable. Last year's program sold out and we expect that this year's course will fill up quickly."

Some of the key topics to be covered during the 2008 program include: changes in food retail and foodservice climate; competitive strategy development; produce branding strategies; team dynamics and decision making; negotiation and conflict resolution; new product development strategies; global food industry trends; survival guide to finance in strategic planning; and supply chain effectiveness.

Sessions and presentations will be augmented with guest speakers, case study exploration, working groups, and discussion. Tuition for the five-day program for United Fresh members before Jan. 4, 2008 is $4995; after that date, the price is $5500; non-member rates are $7995 and $8500 respectively.
