UNFI Subsidiary Names Operations Manager, Corporate Buyer
DAYVILLE, Conn. -- Gil Mendez has joined the Western Division Albert's Organics, a wholly owned subsidiary of wholesaler United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) here, as operations manager, while Liz Bourret has come aboard the Albert's Source team as its new corporate buyer.
Mendez has been in the produce industry for 14 years, with production and quality control experience at Villagio Farms, Gold Coast Packing, Pacific International Marketing, Natural Selection Foods, and Tanimura & Antle. His broad background will be used to improve customer service and efficiency at the company's Western division.
An organic industry veteran of over 15 years' standing, Bourret has been a buyer at Veritable Vegetable in the San Francisco Bay area, was a grower agent for Lagier Ranch, and has worked extensively in the areas of organic legislation and certification.
