Ukrop's to Open Second Williamsburg, Va. Store
RICHMOND, Va. -- Regional retailer Ukrop's Super Markets, Inc. here is gearing up to open its second Williamsburg-area store on Oct. 4, a 55,597-square-foot unit in the Williamsburg Marketcenter.
Ukrop's opened its first Williamsburg-area store in 1998, about seven miles away from the new location. "Since joining the Williamsburg community in 1998, we've been delighted by the reception we've received from area customers," said Bobby Ukrop, president and c.e.o. of Ukrop's, in a statement. "We believe the addition of our second area store in this fantastic location will enable us to share our passion for great food and service with even more local shoppers." (Story continues below.)
Ukrop's said the new store includes split aisles for easier shopping and offers:
-- Thousands of items at Ukrop's "Consistent Low Prices"
-- A 240-seat café featuring two stories, outdoor seating, and free wireless Internet access
-- A Starbucks featuring coffee and pastries
-- Full-service deli and kitchen offerings, including fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, grill, pizza, panini sandwiches, chef specials, party trays, hot foods, hot soup, specialty cheese, and meats (among them Boar's Head products)
-- A Ukrop's Bakery featuring decorated cakes, freshly baked bread, desserts, breakfast pastries, bagels, donuts, and muffins (plus Ukrop’s new line of All Natural Bakery products)
-- An expanded natural and organic food section, with grocery, produce, frozen food, and dairy, as well as bulk items
-- A full-service meat and seafood department, featuring Ukrop's All Natural Beef and fresh seafood from Virginia and around the world
-- Sushi prepared on-site each day
-- A fresh floral shop
Additional time-saving amenities and services on-site for customers include a "Celebration Room" for private events, business meetings, and social gatherings; Ukrop's Pharmacy with drive-thru and a Wellness Center; a full-service First Market Bank branch and ATM access; and full line of services, including dry cleaning and photo finishing.
The Williamsburg Marketcenter unit brings Ukrop's portfolio up to 28 stores, plus Joe's Market, a central bakery and kitchen, and a distribution center.
