UFFVA Exceeds 2005 Membership Goal

Washington, D.C. -- The United Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association, based here, announced it has surpassed its 2005 membership goal of 150 new members as a result of new programs, the excitement and success of the United Produce Show at FMI, and the growing opportunities to change government policy to help children consume more fresh fruits and vegetables.

The gain marks the fourth consecutive year that new memberships have grown, from 117, to 125, to 140, to 151 this year. United said it recorded new members in every membership category: growers, shippers, packers, wholesalers/distributors, processors, retail, foodservice, allied associations, and international members.

Robert Gordon, FreshPoint, and Fred Williamson are co-chairs of the association's 2005 Membership Committee.

The next major membership event for all UFFVA members is the Washington Public Policy Conference, to be held Sept. 13 to Sept. 16 in the nation’s capital.
