Tyson Busts Burger Boredom with “Serious Grilling” Promo

With retail prices of beef and pork up 10.4 percent and 5.8 percent, respectively, since last year, Tyson Fresh Meats Inc. is running a “”Serious Grilling” promotion for its Chairman’s Reserve Premium Meats brand this summer.

The promotion, which began last month, will run through mid-September and feature both Chairman's Reserve Certified Premium Beef and Chairman's Reserve Premium Pork products.

The “Serious Grilling” promotion is designed to appeal to avid grillers who are bored with burgers and want to take their grilling up a notch with premium beef steaks and pork loins. Consumer promotion elements include a website coupon for $2 off a $10 purchase, recipes and grilling tips. In-store materials include on-pack labels, an over-sized poster and a point-of-purchase display for the full-service meat case, all designed to draw attention to Chairman’s Reserve® Premium Meats. Retailers will also receive ad circular elements and banner ads for their websites as well as social media support.

According to Marty Sacci, meat manager of Eden Marketplace in South Orange, N.J., “This promotion is a great opportunity for us to sell more Chairman’s Reserve Premium Meats this summer, as many of our customers are changing up their meals and rewarding themselves with a great steak on the grill. The in-store point-of-sale materials catch our consumers’ attention and the call out for the website coupon offers an extra incentive.”
