Petaluma Poultry has taken the wraps off new tray-less packaging for its all-natural Rocky the Range chicken and Rosie Organic Chicken. The new packaging eliminates foam trays in favor of freezer-safe leak-resistant plastic, and reduces overall packaging volume by 73 percent. The Petaluma, Calif.-based company will be phasing in the new packaging starting with its most popular cut, boneless skinless chicken breasts, at many Whole Foods locations in California this month, and at other natural retailer locations where the brand is sold.
