Tops Opens 4th Fueling Station in Rochester, N.Y.

Tops Markets LLC has rolled out its fourth fueling station in the Rochester, N.Y., area. The off-site Tops Xpress station, located a block from a full-service Tops grocery store, is part of the Northeast regional grocery chain’s capital improvement and growth plan, and brings its total number of gas stations to 43.

Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, the new location, formerly the site of a Valero fueling station, features three self-serve fuel dispensers offering three grades of high-quality gasoline -- regular, mid-grade and premium -- as well as an array of convenience items, including beverages, snacks, a Tim Hortons coffee kiosk, New York State Lottery, Western Union and various automobile maintenance items.

“The Tops Xpress store concept is an extension of our full-service grocery stores, with an even greater emphasis on convenience and value,” said Frank Curci, president and CEO of Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops, which operates 133 supermarkets -- 127 company-owned and six franchise locations —and employs more than 14,000 associates in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. “The addition of this new fuel station and Tops Xpress store gives our Rochester-area customers another convenient way to save at Tops by taking advantage of significant fuel discounts.”

Shoppers who use a Tops BonusPlus Card or BonusCard when shopping at Tops earn points on qualifying grocery and pharmacy purchases. Customers earn one GasPoint for every dollar they spend and can track their points at the bottom of their receipts. These points can be redeemed by scanning either of the loyalty cards at a Tops gas pump.
