Tops Markets' Store Renovations Underway
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- Ahold-owned Tops Markets, LLC here is in the midst of remodeling 11 upstate New York stores, completing the initial phase of a multimillion-dollar cap ex program, according to a published report. The company has already renovated the first six stores on its agenda.
"We are well on track to exceed [the] original capital investment on the renovations of 11 of our stores this year," Tops e.v.p. and general manager Max Henderson Jr. told Business First of Albany, N.Y. "Tops has gone above and beyond our original $20 million commitment."
The upgraded stores are located in Cheektowaga, Depew, Lockport, Medina, Niagara Falls, and West Seneca. Still to come are remodels of locations in Amherst, Buffalo, East Amherst, East Aurora, and Tonawanda. Renovations are being made on a store-to-store basis.
Tops is scheduled to upgrade another group of its stores in 2007.
