Tops Donates 100 Percent of Festival Proceeds to Food Bank
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- Tops Markets, LLC here will donate all of its proceeds from sales at the annual Taste of Buffalo food festival to the Food Bank of Western New York, for a total donation of $6,026. The Ahold banner is the only participant at the Taste that donates 100 percent its proceeds to a community organization.
First held in 1984, the Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is the United States' second-largest food festival after Taste of Chicago, attracting over 400,000 people to this year's event, which was held July 7 and July 8 along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square.
A division of Giant Food Stores in Carlisle, Pa., Tops Markets operates stores in New York and Pennsylvania under the Tops Markets and Martin's Super Food Stores banners.
