Tom Thumb Offers Visa TravelMoney Card
SAN FRANCISCO -- Visa TravelMoney cards are now available at Safeway stores nationwide, Convenience Store News reports.
"Consumers are opting for the convenience and flexibility of cards over travelers' checks," said Todd Brockman, s.v.p. of prepaid products for the San Francisco Card Association.
NetSpend will market the reloadable prepaid travel cards and process transactions for the issuer, Inter National Bank, according to a report in the Sacramento Business Journal.
Safeway will sell Visa TravelMoney cards in its 1,500 stores that operate under the Safeway, Vons, Tom Thumb, Dominick's, and other names.
Safeway has met with success in selling a wide range of gift cards and other prepaid cards, usually along the checkout line.
