Tesco to Sell More Organics

LONDON - Tesco, the UK's largest supermarket chain, has announced plans to expand its market for organic food to #1bn ($1.46 billion) within five years, the BBC reported. The company claims it is already the country's largest organic retailer.

Tesco is also asking British farmers to grow more organic produce, according to the BBC. While farmers welcomed the news, some expressed fears that supermarket buyers would pressure for lower costs and force prices below the cost of production.

Tesco has said it is already cutting the prices of its organic produce.
