Target Welcomes Pret A Manger to Chicago Store

CityTarget on Chicago’s State Street will be home to the latest Windy City location of Pret A Manger when Target opens the new store in the former Carson Pirie Scott building in July 2012.

“We believe Pret A Manger will help us provide guests in downtown Chicago with the exceptional, complete shopping experience they have come to expect from Target,” said Annette Miller, Target senior VP of grocery. “Our Chicago CityTarget guests can pop in for a fresh sandwich or salad during their regular visits to our store for groceries or apartment essentials.”

As previously announced, Target will open the first round of small-format CityTarget stores in Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles in 2012. CityTarget will offer urban dwellers, commuters and tourists the convenience of one-stop shopping with an affordable grocery selection, everyday essentials, on-trend fashions and exclusive designer collections. Pret A Manger will provide Chicago CityTarget guests with a fresh, natural selection of grab-and-go sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee and more.

London-based Pret A Manger has more than 265 store locations in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Pret A Manger (French for “ready to eat”) creates natural, preservative-free food from scratch every day. Any unsold food at the end of the day is donated to charities working with the hungry. 

Minneapolis-based Target Corp. operates 1,762 stores in 49 states nationwide.
