Target Hires Former Senate Staffer as VP of Government Affairs
Minneapolis-based Target Corp. has name Matt Zabel its VP of government affairs.
Zabel, 42, had been chief of staff for U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) since 2004. At Target, Zabel replaces Nate Garvis, who retired earlier this year.
“Matt brings broad knowledge on a range of important policy issues, and significant experience within the legislative process to his new role,” said Tim Baer, Target general counsel.
Before serving on Thune’s staff, Zabel worked in the U.S. Department of Justice and was an adjunct professor of law at George Mason University.
