T&A Takes Healthy-eating Message to Airwaves

Tanimura & Antle (T&A) has joined forces with Lifetime Television’s “The Balancing Act” program for a segment called “From the Earth to the Plate—Creating the Perfect Salad,” which will air Thursday, Aug. 18 and Thursday, Sept. 18. Viewers will get to see an artisan lettuce harvest in T&A’s hometown of Salinas, Calif., in addition to learning some recipes and easy tips on using lettuce in their meals from the grower’s CEO, Rick Antle.

The airing of the segment coincides with the rollout of T&A’s back-to-school-themed “Salad Smarts” promotion, which aims to boost awareness of organizations championing better nutrition for schoolkids. For more information on Salad Smarts, see the article "T&A’s ‘Salad Smarts’ to Aid Healthy Eating in Schools.” “‘The Balancing Act’ gives us an audience with key consumers to share our lettuce expertise, our farming story and our Salad Smarts cause,” explained T&A marketing director Diana McClean.

“Preparing a delicious salad is only a matter of looking in the fridge or pantry,” noted Antle, who appears in the segment to share some quick steps to salad perfection. “Use what you have on hand, starting with fresh lettuce, and it’s sure to be a winner.”

Made by and for women, “The Balancing Act” airs two back-to-back hour-long shows on Lifetime Television Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. (ET/PT).
