SureScripts Signs Agreements with Top Supermarket Chains
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - SureScript Systems Inc., a company that electronically connects physicians to the nation's 55,000 independent and chain pharmacies for the purpose of electronic prescribing, has announced agreements with four of the country's leading supermarket chains: Ahold USA, A&P, Hannaford Bros., and Safeway.
Ahold USA, A&P, Hannaford Bros., and Safeway have agreed to work with SureScripts to develop and implement electronic prescribing throughout their supermarket chains. The agreements are among the first SureScripts has established with supermarket chains. In October, SureScripts announced agreements with two-thirds of the chain-pharmacy market, including supermarket operator Albertson's Inc.

"We recognize the added value and convenience that supermarket pharmacies provide their customers and appreciate the access that our agreements today will give us to these new pharmacies."
