SureBeam Names New Auditor
NEW YORK - SureBeam Corp. today named Peterson & Co. LLP as its new auditing firm. The company, which fired its previous auditor more than three months ago in a dispute about bookkeeping practices, was recently delisted from Nasdaq because it had failed to file quarterly earnings reports, Reuters reports.
San Diego-based SureBeam, provider of electron beam processing for food, said Peterson & Co. LLP will begin a review of the quarters ended June 30 and Sept. 30. It plans to file its quarterly reports for those periods with the Securities and Exchange Commission when the new auditor completes its review.
SureBeam fired its previous auditor, Deloitte & Touche LLP, in August after the auditor questioned how SureBeam booked revenue from some contracts, Reuters reports. Deloitte had been the third auditor fired by SureBeam over the course of about one year.
