Supervalu's TLC to Run New DC for Nestle

Nestle Prepared Foods Co. has selected Holland, Mich.-based Total Logistic Control (TLC), to operate a new ground-up distribution center it will build in Mt. Sterling, Ky. The new facility will be adjacent to an existing manufacturing facility Nestle operates which makes Hot Pockets brand sandwiches.

As an independent of Supervalu, Inc., TLC delivers source-to-shelf supply chain solutions for some of the industry's largest companies. TLC will implement distribution and supply-chain engineering solutions for Nestle in Mt. Sterling. Though the building will be owned by Nestle, TLC will operate the distribution center and hire and train personnel to fill the 59 jobs created by the project.

Construction on the new 265,000-square-foot distribution center will begin later this month, making it about three-fourths of the size of Nestle's existing Mt. Sterling manufacturing facility to which it will be connected via tunnel.
