Supervalu Taps Dailey & Associates to Help Polish Brand Strategy

MINNEAPOLIS -- The new Supervalu has a story to tell, and now it has elisted a retail advertising and marketing firm to lend a hand. The company said yesterday that it has hired West Hollywood, Calif.-based Dailey & Associates, a division of the Interpublic Group of Companies, to provide strategic counsel and creative development for the recently acquired Albertsons banners.

"Our goal is to provide an outstanding shopping experience for our customers, and deliver unmatched value at every customer touch point," said Duncan Mac Naughton, Supervalu's e.v.p. of merchandising and marketing. "We look forward to partnering with Dailey to develop the brand messages and creative strategy that will support us in this mission." (Story continues below.)

Dailey & Associates will provide advertising services to the Albertsons, Acme, Jewel-Osco, and Shaw's banners.

Supervalu is also conducting a search for a chief marketing officer, who will then work with the entire portfolio of Supervalu banners to determine the best long-term creative direction for the company.

With annual sales approaching $40 billion, Supervalu holds leading market share positions across the United States with its approximately 2,500 retail grocery locations.
