SuperValu Expands Store Network Deployment of RTLED Luminaires
Following a successful pilot of LED lighting last year at its Chestnut Hill Star Market in Newton, Mass., Supervalu installed the energy-efficient lighting systems at two additional stores located in Southern California that were recently renovated.
The retailer installed the Lithonia Lighting RTLED system from Atlanta-based Acuity Brands. “We renovated our lighting with the RTLED because of the effect and the impact,” said Keith Tarver, manager of electrical Systems at Supervalu. “We believe the quality of the LED ambient lighting is more soothing, creating a better environment and customer experience for our shoppers. And, we are saving energy with them We have received nothing but positive feedback from our customers and store employees.”
According to Acuity, RTLED is a high-quality, volumetric recessed luminaire developed to deliver ambient white light uniformly throughout an entire space while reducing energy and maintenance costs and a building's environmental footprint. Powered by an advanced LED light engine, the RTLED luminaire delivers an expected 50,000 hour system life and a high color rendering (80+ CRI), 3500K color temperature, and full range dimming with 0-10V DC control.
