Supervalu DC complex sale completed
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Supervalu completed the sale of a 713,000-square-foot former warehouse complex in the Pittsburgh suburb of Belle Vernon, Pa. to Lloyd Gordon of Needham, Mass.
Located on Interstate 70, the sprawling complex is comprised of two buildings that sold for a total of $7.5 million. The facility, situated on the site of the former Wetterau-Pittsburgh division, was on the market for a little over four years and was vacant for about three and a half.
(Story continues below.)
The new owner has plans to carve the facility into smaller square-foot spaces of either three or four 40,000 square foot spaces, a couple of hundred thousand square foot spaces and one larger 200,000 square foot space in the main building. The smaller, 123,000-square-foot building was previously a freezer/cooler and can be potentially converted back.
Pittsburgh-based real estate brokerage Langholz Wilson Ellis Inc. represented both the seller and the buyer in the deal.
