Super Saver’s 'Smokin’ Bob' Wins National Prize

Super Saver’s Bob Voss recently won national recognition at the American Cured Meat Championships by earning 4th Place Reserve Champion in the Meat Snack Sticks class at the contest, presented by the American Association of Meat Processors.

Voss, who has earned the nickname “Smokin’ Bob,” prepares a variety of cured meats, including sausage and smoked turkeys, in the Smoke House at the Super Saver store at 27th and Pine Lake Road in Lincoln, Neb. He’s a frequent winner in state competition, along with other members of the Super Saver Smoke House team. Award-winning Smoke House products are available at all Super Saver locations.

“We’re proud of Bob’s latest achievement,” said Pat Raybould, president of B&R Stores. “His awards are the result of a commitment to making the best-tasting products he can for our customers.”

The competition was held July 26-28, 2012, in St. Paul, Minn., in conjunction with the 73rd convention of the American Association of Meat Processors.

Lincoln-based B&R Stores Inc. operates four store concepts (Russ’s Market, Super Saver, Save Best Foods and Grand Central Apple Market) located in seven cities across Nebraska and Iowa.
