Super Saver Names Smokehouse Challenge Winner

Super Saver, a banner of B&R Stores based in Lincoln, Neb., named Jackie Webster and her Jackie’s Peppered Steak as the winner of its Smokehouse Challenge. Webster joined four other finalists to have their sausage made and sold in stores from Sept. 18-Oct. 18. Jackie’s Peppered Steak sold the most and Webster won $150 in Super Saver gift cards.

Webster developed her bratwurst flavor because she wanted “something that tastes like a steak but doesn’t cost as much.” The ingredients include coarse ground beef chuck tenders and a blend of salt, pepper and garlic seasoning. Jackie’s Peppered Steak bratwurst is still available in all Super Saver Stores.

“We have the ability and desire to create unique flavors at our in-store smokehouses,” said Smokin’ Bob Voss, Super Saver’s award-winning sausage maker. “For us, it’s a labor of love.”
