Super 1 Foods Enhances Services in Shreveport-Bossier City Market
In addition to recent facility upgrades in Shreveport and Bossier City, La., Brookshire Grocery Co. plans to offer customers improved services at its Super 1 Foods & Discount Pharmacy.
The services -- which the Tyler, Texas-based company’s store operations and category management leaders have spent the past year developing -- include more aggressive pricing for Super 1 Foods’ “Wall of Values” and fresh departments, as well as a new weekly sales ad format, shelf tags, increased “impact” items, and new carousel checkstands offering cashier sacking.
Along with the new ad format, the chain’s marketing department has put together an aggressive campaign to let customers know about the changes, using billboard messaging (static and electronic), radio, movie theater messaging, and special mailers to military personnel at nearby Barksdale Air Force Base.
“This market has been a key part of [Brookshire] for many years,” said Mike Terry, SVP of Super 1 Foods operations. “Sales generated here have greatly contributed to our company’s overall success, and we are committed to reinvesting in this area’s Super 1 Foods operations.”
Several stores in Shreveport and Bossier City recently kicked off grand-reopening campaigns following extensive remodels that added such features as pharmacy drive-through lanes, new décor and new store fronts, in addition to new lighting and other improvements.
