Sunkist Growers Grooming Russell Hanlin EVP for Prez Slot

Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based Sunkist Growers named Russell L. Hanlin, e.v.p., and added that he will ascend to the top spot as the new president and c.e.o. of the country's oldest and largest citrus marketing cooperative in November, when current president and c.e.o. Timothy J. Lindgren will retire. Lindgren is leaving after two years in the leader's chair.

Hanlin is a 30-year veteran of Sunkist. He began there in 1978 as a buyer for Sunkist's manufacturing and supply affiliate, Fruit Growers Supply Co., moving quickly to manager of packinghouse supplies. He then joined Sunkist's marketing department as assistant manager, sales promotion, and in 1987, became manager, fresh fruit sales administration.

Hanlin's responsibilities increased when he was named manager, domestic sales operations in 1994 and director, international sales in 1997, where he directed the cooperative extensive export sales programs. In 2002, he was named v.p., international sales and operations, assuming the additional responsibilities of pricing, crop management, sales pacing and other operating activities. In 2006, he became s.v.p./sales and marketing.
