Summertime Sipping

Ruffino, an Italian winery founded in Tuscany in 1877, has brought out its first-ever Ruffino Prosecco DOC. Sourced from the hilly areas of Valdobbiadene, one of the best-known regions of Prosecco production in the Veneto region of northwestern Italy, the extra-dry sparkling wine joins an extensive portfolio that includes Ruffino’s award winning Chianti wines. Ruffino Prosecco is straw-yellow, with aromas of apples, pears and citrus fruits, and can be served as an aperitif or accompany a variety of foods, pairing especially well with baked fish, gourmet pizza and marinated shellfish dishes, according to San Francisco-based Constellation Wines U.S., the importer of Ruffino wines. A 750-milliliter bottle retails for a suggested $14.99. For more information, visit www.ruffino1877.com.
