Stew Leonard's to Be Featured on 'The Apprentice: Martha Stewart'

NORWALK, Conn. -- The candidates vying for a shot at the upper echelons of the business world will find out about customer service at Stew Leonard's on the fifth episode of NBC's "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart," which airs tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

The task given the show's teams was to formulate, create packaging for, market, and merchandise a new product for Wish-Bone dressings. The team that sells the most of their product wins. Two of three Stew Leonard's stores, in Norwalk, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y., were chosen for the task of selling the items, and the teams could pick any location in the stores for maximum customer traffic to create a display and demo the product. The winning product will be available for purchase at Stew Leonard's tomorrow, while supplies last.

"Stew Leonard's was a perfect location for this task, because of our unique retailing concept -- offering farm-fresh foods in a fun atmosphere, combined with outstanding customer service that attracts more than 100,000 customers a week to each store," said president and c.e.o. Stew Leonard Jr. "In fact, Martha was a frequent customer at our Norwalk store when she had her catering business, and still shops in our stores today, so she can personally attest to the quality of our foods and friendliness of our team members."

Besides the original store in Norwalk, Stew Leonard's has stores in Yonkers and Danbury, Conn., with additional stores planned in Orange, Conn. and East Farmingdale, N.Y.
