Stater Bros. Seeds San Bernardino Nat’l. Forest With $30K

Stater Bros. Markets recently presented a check in the amount of $30,000 to the San Bernardino National Forest as the final installment of a $100,000, multi-year commitment to replant 100,000 trees.

In 2009, Stater Bros. Markets and Coca-Cola Refreshments joined forces to help the local mountains, which were severely impacted by devastating wildfires in 2003 and 2007. Each spring since then, the funds have been used to replant native trees to help revitalize the damaged forest areas in the San Bernardino National Forest.

“Helping the communities we serve is a priority for Stater Bros,” said Stater Bros. chairman/CEO Jack H. Brown.  “That’s why we joined forces with our supplier-partner, Coca-Cola Refreshments, to help restore our beautiful San Bernardino National Forest to healthy levels and build a better tomorrow for all,” added Brown, who is a former member of the Del Rosa Hot Shots, an elite firefighting crew.

Stater Bros. operates 167 stores and has grown steadily through the years to become the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in both San Bernardino County and Riverside County. The regional retailer employs 18,000 and was recently rated the best full-service supermarket chain in Southern California.
