Stater Bros. Raises 240K for American Heart Association

COLTON, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets' yesterday presented a check for $240,674 to the American Heart Association during a ceremony at its Bloomington Avenue Store.

The Bloomington Stater Bros. supermarket had collected the most money during a May funcraising campaign titled, "Taking Steps against Heart Disease and Stroke." All 161 Stater Bros. supermarkets participated in the campaign.

The check presentation featured 11-year-old open-heart surgery survivor Victoria Hecht, who is the American Heart Association's Ambassador for the Inland Empire.

"The Stater Bros. 'Family' of Employees is extremely proud of the outstanding success of this year's American Heart Association fund raising campaign," said Jack H. Brown, Stater Bros. chairman and c.e.o. "Our customers and employees really got behind this effort to raise funds for research and educational programs that prevent heart disease and stroke."
