Stater Bros. Raises $133,495 for City of Hope
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets said yesterday that its customers and employees recently raised $133,495 to benefit pediatric cancer programs at City of Hope, a leading research and treatment institution for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
During the month of October 2007 customers and employees at all 164 Stater Bros. Supermarkets were able to purchase $1 "Kids 4 Hope" mobiles that were available at each checkout counter. In Stater Bros.' fifth year of participation, this was the largest amount ever raised, as well as a 30 percent increase over last year.
