Stater Bros. Promotes Meyer to EVP, Retail Ops

Regional independent Stater Bros. Markets has promoted Dan Meyer to the position of EVP, retail operations, with responsibility for operations of all 167 stores as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s Corporate Training Center.

In his new position, Meyer will report to Jim Lee, president and COO. “Dan is a well-respected and valuable member of our senior management team,” said Jack Brown, Stater Bros. chairman and CEO. “This promotion is a result of his leadership skills and the contributions that he has made towards the success of the company’s retail operations department.”

A 42-year veteran of the company, Meyer first joined Stater Bros. in 1971 as a courtesy clerk at the company’s La Sierra Supermarket in Riverside, Calif., and progressed through a range of retail store and district supervision positions.

In 2009, Meyer was promoted to senior regional VP, and in 2011, he was promoted to his most recent position of SVP, retail operations.  Meyer currently serves on the boards of Stater Bros. Charities and the California Grocers Association.

Stater Bros. operates 167 Supermarkets in Southern California.
