Stater Bros. Markets Names Two EVPs

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets here said it has promoted George Frahm to the position of e.v.p. of retail operations, and administration and Dennis McIntyre to the position of e.v.p. of marketing.

Frahm, a 35-year Stater Bros. veteran, joined Stater Bros. in 1973 as a courtesy clerk and then rose through the ranks in a variety of retail store and district supervision positions. He became director of labor relations in 1995 and v.p. of labor relations a year later. In 2001 he was appointed s.v.p. of administration, and in March 2006 he was named group s.v.p. of administration. Frahm attained his most recent position, that of group s.v.p. of retail operations and administration, in September 2006. He also serves as treasurer of the California Grocers Association board of directors.

A 30-year member of the Stater Bros. "Family" of employees, McIntyre began his career at the retailer in 1978 as a courtesy clerk and subsequently held a number of retail store positions. In 1983 McIntyre became a buyer in the Marketing Department. Eleven years later he was named assistant v.p. of marketing, and in 1999 he rose to the position of v.p. of marketing. The following year McIntyre became s.v.p. of marketing, and he was appointed to his most recent position, that of group s.v.p. of marketing in 2002.

McIntyre is responsible for the grocer's grocery, meat, seafood, produce, floral, bakery, service deli, HBC/GM, and pharmacy divisions, as well as the marketing, merchandising, and food safety/quality assurance departments. He also serves on the board of directors of the Western Association of Food Chains and as the operations committee co-chair for Topco Associates, LLC.

The largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and the largest employer in both San Bernardino County and Riverside counties, Stater Bros. operates 164 supermarkets, and has almost 18,000 employees.
