Stater Bros. Gets to the Heart of the Matter in February

COLTON, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Supermarkets here will join forces with the American Heart Association during February - otherwise known as National Heart Month - for the sixth straight year to help fight heart disease and stroke. The retailer's 162 stores are conducting the "Have A Heart, Save A Heart" initiative to raise money for the American Heart Association.
Customers can contribute by purchasing red paper hearts for $1 each, or gold paper hearts for $5 each. The paper hearts are scannable at the register, and will be added to the customer's total bill and shown on the register tape, for easy recordkeeping.

To date, Stater Bros. shoppers and employees have raised over $1.1 million to fund research and provide programs to educate the communities served by the retailer about the dangers of heart disease and stroke.
The largest privately owned supermarket chain in California and the largest private employer in both San Bernardino County and Riverside counties, Stater Bros. employs over 18,000 associates.
