Stater Bros. Appoints VP of Finance
Regional independent Stater Bros. Markets has appointed Dave Harris to the position of VP, finance, reporting to Phil Smith, EVP, finance, CFO, and chief accounting officer.
In his new role, Harris is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the company’s financial department. “We are extremely fortunate to have Dave join Stater Bros.,” said Jack H. Brown, chairman of the board and CEO of Stater Bros. “His background in accounting will be valuable to the future growth of the company during these rough economic times. I have known Dave for over 15 years. He knows our company, our people and our customers, and will help strengthen our great financial department for today and for the future.”
Harris has more than 25 years of accounting, auditing and business advisory experience. He was a partner with Ernst & Young in Riverside and Irvine, Calif., and was the managing partner of the Riverside office of Ernst & Young prior to its consolidation with the Irvine office. Since 2005, he has been a partner with Soren McAdam Christenson LLP in Redlands, Calif.
Harris currently sits on the board of directors of Children’s Fund and the Inland Empire Economic Partnership. In addition, he is a member of the Inland Empire Chapter of Financial Executives International.
San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 166 supermarkets, and employs more than 19,000 associates.
