Star® Olive Oil Serves Up Mediterranean Recipe Contest

Starting Sept. 20, Star® Olive Oil will invite home cooks across the United States to submit their favorite Mediterranean dishes for its “Flavors of the Mediterranean” recipe contest. The grand-prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid culinary adventure to the Catalonia region of Spain that includes daily cooking classes; visits to local wineries, food markets and historic sites; and a private olive oil tasting and lunch at STAR’s facilities in Tarrega. First- and second-prize winners will get Sur La Table gift cards, and the first 500 entrants will receive free STAR Olive Oil/Vinegar cruets

Recipe submissions must be original and feature classic Mediterranean ingredients plus two Star products, including Star Olive Oil (sales receipts required).

Supported by a national FSI that drops Sept. 20, an online banner ad campaign on foodnetwork.com and other food sites running through November and PR via print, and broadcast food and lifestyle media, the contest will run through Dec. 20, 2009, with final judging in January 2010.
