Sprouts Farmers Markets Adds 2 VPs to Drive Expansion Strategy

Sprouts Farmers Markets has added two new executives to its management team to help guide the retailer in its growth efforts: Rick Kaiser as SVP of operations and Joe Dobrow as VP of marketing.

A 32-year veteran of the food retail industry, Kaiser has been VP and GM for both large and medium-sized grocery chains. His most recent position was SVP of operations for Raley’s.

“Rick brings a wealth of experience from all levels of the industry that will greatly benefit Sprouts,” said Doug Sanders, president and COO of Sprouts. “In addition to Rick’s expertise for our company’s growth, I also will tap into his passion for developing and motivating individuals to excel in all levels at Sprouts.”

During his 25-year career, Dobrow, whose expertise is in brand building and integrated marketing, has been the head of marketing for Whole Foods Market and Balducci's, and also led the marketing department for the Discovery Channel's consumer products division.

“[Joe will] help spread Sprouts’ message through unique marketing and public relations programs,” noted Sanders. “His remarkable background in consumer research and developing creative retail marketing programs will play a strategic role in shaping and communicating our ‘value’ message to our customers.”

Phoenix-based Sprouts will open 11 new stores this year in California, Texas and Colorado, and plans to hire more than 500 employees to staff the new stores.
