SpartanNash Rebrands 3 Family Fares in N.D.

The fruits of SpartanNash's $4 million investment in North Dakota will take root this week with grand reopenings of three Family Fare Supermarkets, which will aim to create a shopping experience that embraces local and state grown and produced products while building on associates’ commitment to their communities.

Dennis Eidson, president and CEO of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SpartanNash, will preside over the long anticipated conversion to the Family Fare banner of two former Econofoods stores in Dickinson and a former Sun Mart in West Fargo. “It is incredible to see everyone’s hard work and collaboration come together as SpartanNash reinvested $4 million in the West Fargo and Dickinson stores to deliver an exceptional shopping experience," said Eidson, noting that the respective communities "will notice much more than just a new sign and name change. Family Fare represents a better shopping experience," Eidson continued, because of the selection, quality, freshness, service and reasonable pricing that in turn, delivers an overall better value for customers.

Local Focus

Referencing the strong support of local farmers and food manufacturers, Ted Adornato, SpartanNash's EVP of retail operations, said, "We know how important providing local, regional and state-made products are to our customers.” Adornato, who oversaw the stores’ redevelopment, also emphasized that “while customers will enjoy many changes with the new stores, two things will remain the same: our friendly associates who are dedicated to serving the West Fargo and Dickinson communities – and our commitment to giving back to the communities where we live, work and play.”

During this week's ribbon-cutting ceremonies, Eidson will share plans on the company’s future commitments in North Dakota, including new stores in Fargo, Moorhead and Dickinson. In addition, Eidson and Adornato will also join SpartanNash officials and associates in thanking the communities for their support and patience while the stores were being remodeling, as well as distributing pallets of backpacks and Our Family food products to local schools and food pantries which provide families with a hand up during difficult times.
